I had to work until noon, so we got on the road at 12:30. Traffic on Highway 49 was congested all the way to Hattiesburg.
Once we got on Highway 98 the traffic wasn’t so congested and pretty smooth sailing. Then we drove into heavy range that slowed us down again outside of Mobile. Traffic in Mobile was very slow, but once we got on the bridge over Mobile Bay the traffic evened out. We made it to Buc-ees and then on to Tropic Hideaway with sunshine in much cooler weather without too much humidity.
Set up was hot, but not terrible. With a 5:30pm arrival, leaving after noon, that time of the day was not too bad but not preferred on the holiday weekend.
We ate spaghetti and sat outside a bit. The park was, nearly full, which is nice to see. As of today, the crowd seems different than most RV parks. Most parks are very friendly and a few folks we have encountered are very reserved. We shall see how it goes the rest of the trip. The park is as full as we have ever seen in our five trips that we have made here.

Independence Day, We had a relaxing day, I tan while Jack worked a little. We ate hamburgers for lunch and later we took a ride to the beach. We checked out some very nice electric bikes and got some good education. We had a few stops on the ride and got a daiquiri on the way back. The toll area is gone from the bridge now that it’s paid for, that made for an easy ride. We ate ribs for dinner and sat outside. There were a few popping fireworks that we could see in the distance. The big fireworks at The Wharf was July 3, so we missed them.
The temperature is high and we’ve done a better job managing the heat in the Airstream this July.

We had a slow easy morning. I laid out my Jack work a little and looked over our stuff from Airstream international. We ate lunch at Wolf Bay and rode around a bit. Then Jack took a rest, and I went to the gym. We ate in and went to the concert, purple madness. It was good but sound too loud so you couldn’t really understand him and the AC wasn’t working very well. Struggled more today but it kept cool. Just ran a lot. It’s been a relaxing trip.

Going home today. We have had a great weekend with Nick and Shelley. Sunday morning, they left about 8:00am and we got on the road about 9:00am. Travel was good. A little wind, but all went well. We were both tired, but we had enjoyed the weekend.
