April 5-8, 2024 – Site #41
We’re back to Riverview RV Resort in Vadalia LA for our third visit. This was just a relaxing weekend for both of us. We did add in some entertainment along the way. We had an evening at the Big Muddy Inn & Blues Room with Elton John tribute by Amy Allen. We also had a couple days of Junkin’ on the River along with meeting, several Airstreamer’s that are on a caravan from Natchez to Nashville. We had time to visit with them and enjoy the company.
Friday – April 5, 2024
We left at 9 o’clock and had a good ride down. We were able to check in early and set up. We met Nick and Shelley for lunch at Magnolia Grill, at under the hill. The food was good.
We did a little “Junkin’ on the River” – Spring 2024 … Multiple stores across the Natchez, MS-Vidalia, LA area will be taking part! 15 miles of sales, food trucks, and fun!
Later we came to check on the dogs while Nick and Shelley got checked in at the BNB. The place they stayed ended up getting us tickets to the Elton John- Amy Allen concert at the Big Muddy Inn & Blues Room. It included appetizers and drinks. The house drinks was the French 75. First time I’ve had even seen Shelley drink, but we had a good time.

Saturday – April 6, 2024
Shelley was slow going Saturday morning so they got here around 11:30. We did our thing until then. We walked 2 miles on the river where there was a riverboat/paddle boat, down by the bridge. It appeared that someone had a medical emergency and transferred to an ambulance.
Late morning we did some junkin’ on the river. Not much but found a dress for Avery‘s birthday.
We came back to the RV and they went to their place and then they went to church at the Basilica. We met them for dinner at biscuits and blues. The food was all right.
Mississippi River Bridge
Sunday – April 7, 2024
Nick and Shelley leave today so we have the day to ourselves. We haven’t decided what to do yet. Relaxing for sure.
This week there was an Airstream Caravan group at the RV park. 20 Airstreams. Never seen that many at one time. They are traveling the Natchez Trace from Natchez to Nashville over the next three weeks. Looks like fun.
We ate lunch at the Pig Out In and it was as good as always. We met a couple of people that are part on the Airstream Caravan and we spent several minutes visiting with them.
Later the day they invited us to join them for a potluck dinner/meeting that night. We went for a short while. The food was good and enjoyed being a part of the group for a little while.
That eventing we watched the South Carolina/Iowa ladies basketball championship game. (Kaitlin Clark). South Carolina is just too much.
Later that evening we started preparing to leave on Monday . It’s supposed to rain Monday morning, so we got things ready to go.
