Balloon Festival!! – River View RV Park – Vidalia LA
October 18-20, 2024 Primitive Site
We’re back to Riverview RV Resort in Vidalia LA for our forth visit. This is our first opportunity to attend the Natchez Balloon Festival after being on the waiting list for 3 years. This was just a relaxing weekend for both of us and we got to see the Hot Air Balloons fly.

Friday – October 18, 2024
Friday I worked until 2:45 so that we could pull out at 3:00. We didn’t make any stops and arrived at 5 PM at River View RV Park.
We are in the primitive camping area, in the woods with water and 50amp. Fortunately, we are in the grass and not in the dirt. We are at the end of the road, so hopefully the dust will be minimal with no cars driving by.
We will need to be mindful of our tanks. I told Jack this is the closest we will come to Boondocking for a while.
Natchez Balloon Festival
Saturday – October 19, 2024
The weather was nice, and the balloons were able to fly this morning. We walked the river, down to the MS Bridge. They ended up flying right over the park. We ate breakfast and got ready and headed to Natchez to check things out. There was so much going on, farmers market, merry market and then lunch at Magnolia Grill. The weather is so nice. We’ve been able to have the windows open since the spot we have is shaded. Our plan is to hang out here. The tickets to get into the music were too high for us. We ate in to my dissatisfaction. I wanted to eat at the Pig Out In, oh well. We watched some football and took a long walk on the river and settled in.
Sunday – October 20, 2024
This morning we prepped to go home and and the had breakfast. We finished up just in time to see the balloons coming right over us. We walked over to the river and watched them come in for about 20 minutes. Today they were just like right on top of us.
We travel home via the Natchez Trace. It’s just a couple hours from home, so it’s really easy driving
Arriving home we got the airstream cleaned up, taken out and prepped for storage. Great weekend.
