Hoover Met RV Park – November 2-6, 2022 – Site # 48
Wednesday: Driving to the Hoover Met was going great, then we had our first Dip! The transmission overheated 19 miles from our destination. We pulled off at the exit and the truck wouldn’t go any further. We were in the middle of the exit ramp, so we had to roll back to get out of the middle of the road. We let it cool down for a while and then finally made it to our destination.
Thursday: Diane was able to work remotely from the rig. All went well and with no issues. The weather was so beautiful. We worked with the windows open most of the time. The trees were just starting to change colors.
Friday: After work on Friday, we went to “We the Kingdom” concert. It was so much fun with Andy and Pam. The truck was fine when messing around town without the trailer.
Saturday: The rain came in. We went to lunch with Andi, Pam, Holly and Jess. Lunch was good and enjoyed seeing everyone.
We went to the Summit and messed around for a little while. Jack finally got some new boots he had been wanting for about five years.
Sunday: We got on the road about 8:30 that morning. We made it a couple hours and had to pull off to cool the transmission for a few hours. After cooling off, we made it to Lenice‘s house to let it cool again for another three hours.
We had a good visit with Lenice and David and later David and Missy came in and we visited with them as well. We finally made it home. With the time change, it was dark. We haven’t ever towed at night before, so that was new. We had rain most of the final leg of our trip. The good Lord got us home safely. Thanks be to God.
