August 7-10, 2025 Gulfport Mississippi
We are off on our third shakedown trip for Frances. A relaxing trip to Gulfport Luxury RV Resort included a concert with Billy vs. Elton. This is our second time to see them, and it was a great concert.
We also will add something new. We rented a bungalow for Matt, Taylor, and the kids. We had a great time, cooking out, hanging out at the pool, and spending time with family,
August 7-10, 2025 Gulfport Mississippi
Gulfport Luxury RV Resort – Site #104 & #105
This is our first time to rent a bungalow. It was very nice and worked out great. We were in site #105 and Taylor and family were in site #104. Right next to each other and it worked out great. We cooked outside and ate at the picnic table. Much fun.
Thursday: August 7
We left around 8 o’clock. Traffic wasn’t too bad. We ate lunch and dinner in Frances. We got here right at lunch so we did a quick connect of utilities and then ate lunch with food we had prepared before leaving home.
This is a spot we have not been in before. With Frances, and the front door entrance there was no issue with parking and setup. Our 27FBQ had a rear door entry which made parking a little interesting at times. Site #105 is very nice. There is plenty of room, grass areas and trees.
Concert: Billy vs Elton – was even better than last year. Very entertaining. We have found the oversized parking lot at the Hard Rock. This has always been a little stressful in years past. Where do you park? But this easy in and out is great. We like that a lot.
Taylor and family are coming in on Friday to stay in the bungalow next to us. Should be a good time!
Friday: August 8
We got our walking in early and enjoyed the morning.
Taylor and family made it in shortly after lunch. The bungalow is nice and has plenty of room for them without using the lofted area. Steps are really tall. We went to the pool and everyone did well. Hayes was not afraid to go under the water and the lazy river was not over his head. So that was fun.
We smoked ribs on the new portable pellet grill. We ate at the picnic table together. We were looking for the ice cream man but he didn’t come through, so that was a bummer.
Saturday: August 9
The weather is cooler this morning with the overcast skies. We had coffee outside. When the kids got up, we took them to the clubhouse for donuts (very good), coloring and a movie. After that, Taylor and family went to Lynn Meadows Discovery Center and messing around.
We babysat so Taylor and Matt could go out to dinner. We took the kids back to the pool. They joined us when they got done with dinner.
The ice cream man came, and I flagged him down from the pool. A great way to end the day.

Sunday: August 10
There was no big rush to leave on Sunday. Taylor and family got off around 8:15 and we left around 9 o’clock. The travel home was good, nice and smooth. There was a wreck on Highway 49 near Seminary that had traffic backed up for about 10 minutes. But after that, smooth sailing.
It was a great weekend, especially having family with us. Great memories from the time we were together. Many things to remember from this weekend, but family will be the most important. It was fun for them to see what we do when we travel. I think they enjoyed themselves.
