Thursday morning, we got off to a good start and left around 8:30. The traffic on Highway 49 was very light, unlike the last time we travel to the coast.

We arrived at Gulfport luxury RV resort around 12 o’clock and got to our site # 124 and got set up. Site #124 has a great view of the Gulf of Mexico and has plenty of shade during the day. We are surrounded by large oak trees which give us this great shade and they are beautiful. We sat outside and enjoy the view the rest of the day.

We met Nick and Shelly at The Reef restaurant before the concert, Mark Martel – One Vision of Queen. He really put on a great high energy show and played all our favorite songs. We enjoyed it so much.

We got up early on Friday morning. Diane enjoyed her coffee, and we read the news and enjoyed our beach view. We took our 2 mile walk on the beach. When we returned, we went to the pool and hung out. We  got into the lazy river and just relaxed as it Took us around and around.

We finish up our morning and then prepared for lunch. We went to Taco Sombrero on Highway 49. It’s one of our favorite places to go when we’re on the coast. After lunch we went by our old house in Orange Grove. Kind of forgot what it was like, but it was fun to see. Later we stop by Walmart to get diesel fuel, this is the cheapest we have ever paid,  $2.75.

The rest of the day we just relaxed and hung around the RV park. Very relaxing, “Living Our Best Life”.

Saturday morning, we enjoyed our walk again on the beach and then we went back to the pool. We met Nick and Shelly later for brunch at Morgan Freeman’s ground zero restaurant. The food was very good, and the live music was a bonus. When we got back to the park, we took a rest and  sat outside and just enjoyed our spot. Later that afternoon Nick and Shelly came by and we went to the lazy river. Then we all ate and played dominoes and watch the Saints game on TV.

We had a lot to do on Sunday morning as normal preparing to go home. We have really enjoyed our time here this weekend. The view of the beach and sitting under the majestic oak trees are such a joy. We really enjoyed our stay here at the Gulfport Luxury RV Resort and # 124. Not sure we will make it back again this year but if we do, we know where to stay.

I thought I would talk about the improvement in fuel mileage on this trip. Earlier in the week, I took my truck in for service and they recommended a diesel fuel treatment. Which I accepted. On the way down we got 14.4 mpg. Not quite that good on the way home but we still ended up with the 14.0 for the trip.

This is the best mpg we’ve had on a trip that you drive 65 miles an hour. The best we have had before was on the Natchez Trace, when you can only drive around 52 to 53 mph.

I plan to keep using the treatment and I’m excited to see how well we do on our trip to Missouri in October.
