1414 Miles – 13.1 miles per gallon.

Wednesday – October 2, 2024
Wednesday, we worked until 2:30 and we got out on the road around 2:45. Our next stop was at the Memphis KOA Journey in Marion, AR. The drive was a little less than four hours. The park was nice and full.

Thursday – October 3, 2024
Thursday morning, we left at 7:30 and started our way to Arrow Rock State Park in Arrow Rock, MO. This trip will be about seven hours. This location is about one hour from our final destination in Sedalia. Here, we will meet our group from SC Coastal Airstream Club and travel into Sedalia for the rally.

Friday – October 4, 2024
We left at 7:45 and drove an hour to Sedalia. We got there about 9 o’clock and took about 30 minutes to check us in and then get us parked. There are so many Airstreams, and they are coming in all day. We had eight in our group caravan. 1 had to cancel due to Hurricane Helene. It’s a good group, and we aren’t the only ones still working.

This morning was cool, but the day is much warmer than expected. The trees have not really started turning yet.

Saturday – October 5, 2024
Jack did a bike ride on the Katie Trail from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. There were about 100 riders, and they rode about 15 miles. He enjoyed the trip.

I tried to study. Then, around lunch, we went to historical downtown Sedalia and messed around and got lunch at No. 5 Bistro. It was good and fresh. The service was good. Then we came back and watched college football.

We set up outside to watch the vintage Airstream parade, but they didn’t follow the map that was posted, so we missed it. We ate around 5 o’clock so we could make the opening ceremonies at 7:30. It was about an hour. They had a band, but we came back since it was taking a minute for them to get set up.

We went to the church service and then we were going to an E-bike presentation, but we couldn’t find the right building. We ended up doing the two-vendor building.

We saw Richard‘s boss from Foley RV. So much to see in a short time.

We came back to the rig and had lunch. I studied, and Jack went to a few different presentations. One on Photos and one on TPMS.

Monday – October 7, 2024
Very cool temps in the morning. (42 degrees) Chris and Jack are doing the bike ride today. (15 miles) Chris is riding my bike.
Monday night, there was a Halloween dance. It was crazy, with so many people and so many dressed up. The DJs played great music.

Tuesday – October 8, 2024
Cool temps and not much breeze. Chris ran and Jack rode with him. Jack, Henry, and Chris worked on our door today. Today was maintenance day for several of our rigs. They tried to fix Bruce’s door, but it was pretty abused. I think they made it better, though not perfect. Jack went to some seminars while I studied. Then I went to one that afternoon. We had some guests at happy hour today.

Wednesday – October 9, 2024
Cool temperatures

Cary and Chris have to leave today for their 12-hour drive home. 2 – six-hour days.

Jack did a few more seminars. We went back through the vendors and made a few purchases. Happy hour and then the listen to the ACI band where they spoke for 45 minutes before the music. We heard a few songs and finally left.

Thursday – October 10, 2024
We went to the craft show and then to Sandy’s family history video presentation. I won a Rally 2024 blanket. Gran (Jack’s mom) ended up in the hospital, so we got our stuff together and on the road around 1:30. The plan was to stop somewhere along the way, but we drove all the way home. Got home about 1:00 a.m.
We both slept well and then had Friday to get the Airstream cleaned and unloaded for the next weekend trip to the Natchez balloon festival. Finally being able to make this after three years of being on the waiting list.
