Gulfport Luxury RV Resort – July 16 – 19
This is Hayes and Avery’s first RV trip. We are heading to Gulfport Luxury RV Resort, staying in site #110. The trip included swimming, biking, and a visit to Ocean’s Adventures to see dolphins and sea lions. The kids slept well and enjoyed the trip, making it a memorable experience.

Taylor dropped off the kids about 7:20 a.m. and took a few pictures, and then we got on the road. Traveling through Jackson wasn’t too bad, but once we got to Hwy 49, it was smooth sailing the rest of the way. We had to make a couple of stops for potty breaks. Our first stop was in Magee and then again at Dizzy Dean Rest Area in Magee. I think these stops helped us in the long run, breaking up our travel time.
On the road, we ate a good many vanilla wafers and pigs in a blanket. A lot of questions and a few minutes with their music box. We got here and had some lunch, got set up, and everyone had a rest. Avery didn’t fall asleep, but Hayes did. Around 2:30 p.m. we went to the pool for a couple of hours.
Everyone went to sleep with no issues that evening. Avery slept with me, and Gus slept with Hayes on the couch. That seemed to be a pretty good option for us.
This is our first time at site #110. It’s pretty level and has some good early morning and late afternoon shade.

Avery slept till about 7:30, and Hayes and I had a coffee quietly while we waited for Jack and Avery to get up. We called Taylor on her way to work. The kids rode their bikes 1 mile today on our morning walk. It was so hot. Then we went to the pool for about an hour, where Hayes found someone to play with. We came back for lunch and a rest for about 2 hours, then back to the pool again. Everyone had a great time.

We slept in some, but not as late as Friday. Hayes and I did our sight words, somewhat painfully. Then, to the dog park and to ride our bikes some. Jack entertained them soon so I could get a quick shower.
We went to the Ocean’s Adventures to see the dolphins and the sea lions. They might be a little too young since it is hard for them to pay attention and to have patience. Jack and I got lunch at Little Ray’s on our way back. Jack had a roast beef Poboy, and I had a shrimp Poboy. After lunch, we had a rest, and then back to the pool around 2:00 p.m. We’re almost made it.
We packed the truck and prepared for the trip home. I am sure we will be on the road early.

Sunday morning, we are up and out of here. I didn’t even drink my coffee. The kids were good overall. Neither ever asked about Mom or Dad. They slept well with no issues. Well, for the most part. I think they both had fun, and memories were made. They both fell asleep on the way home. They traveled well. We only made one stop on the way home.
We will regroup and plan another trip next year. It was a fun weekend.
