Gulfport Luxury RV Resort – April 8-12
We had an amazing time at Gulfport Luxury RV Resort with our friends Chris and Carey from Mineral Bluff, Georgia. Despite the strong winds, we managed to enjoy a variety of activities, including biking, exploring antique shops, and eating great meals together. Our trip concluded with a memorable concert in New Orleans on Saturday night, where we were treated to a performance by Leonid and Friends, a talented Chicago cover band.

Gulfport Luxury RV Resort, site number 124.
One of our favorite spots at Gulfport Luxury RV Resort, Cris and Carey, our friends from Georgia, are in site number 123. We both arrived around 11 o’clock. The men were able to get set up. Jack and I went to Little Ray’s for a poboy. In the meantime, Chris overflowed an empty black tank, while cleaning, into the trailer and was gone to get some cleaning supplies while Carey started cleaning up.
We were able to sit outside, but in a place where we got some protection from the wind. The wind was gusting up to 35 mph. This is going to be normal for a couple of days.
We went to dinner at The Reef. Everyone enjoyed the fresh seafood.
It was about 8 o’clock when we got back and everyone was ready to call it a day.

The boys left at 8 o’clock for a 4-mile run, Chris with the run and Jack on his bike. I walked the park while they were gone. We went to the clubhouse for pancakes, but the machine was broken. For lunch we went to Chimneys and then to the antique mall and messed around. I found a few plates for my wall. Then to the puzzle store at Edgewater Mall. Carey got us another puzzle since we finished the one she brought.
The wind was still pretty bad today. But we managed to sun in front of the Airstream and then got in front of their van to shield us from the wind. Chris went to the pool and swam a little and napped. We ate dinner in, Jack cooked pork chops. Delicious! We visited a bit and called it a night. Carey had some work to do.
The sunrises have been beautiful. The skies have been clear, just the wind is too much. Thankful for the beautiful weather!
The plan for Friday is more of the same!

The four of us went on an 8-mile bike ride to the marina. The ride to the marina felt easy with the wind at our back. The ride back was more challenging with a strong wind in our face, They got the pancake machine fixed, so we stopped at the clubhouse on the way back in.
We all got cleaned up and went to lunch at Captain Al’s. Then, we went to the Biloxi Information Center. We took our time and went through the exhibits. A lot of interesting things.
Chris and Carey cooked chicken burgers for dinner and then we finished our card game that we started when they were at our house in Clinton. The boys won.
We missed the sunset every day! Although we did get the sunrises al most every day.
Saturday, we are off to New Orleans for a concert.

Saturday morning, we loaded the truck since we knew it would be late tonight before we got back. Carey and I worked on the puzzle and got a good bit done. We had gumbo for lunch.
We left for New Orleans at 2 o’clock. Chris drove. He is a pretty good driver. We parked at Jax Brewery since Chris’s van is oversized, the height is 7 feet plus. We did the Square and Chris got picked by some street performers to be part of their bit. But the guy took way too long. So he was able to sneak off.
We grabbed dinner at the Corner Oyster Café, which was great for people watching. I had fried shrimp and Jack had BBQ shrimp.
After dinner, we headed to the concert. Traffic in the city was pretty bad, as normal, but we got parked and made it into the Orpheum Theatre by 7 o’clock, which was the plan. The concert was so good. The original seats were not very good, but we were able to move over into some empty seats, which took care of that issue. We had a great time.
We got home about midnight. The dogs did well at home by themselves for such a long time.
When we got back the winds finally died down.

Heading home today. It has been a great weekend.
Overview: The trip way great and we had blast. Leonid and Friends we very good. Links below. We traveled a little lighter on this trip, with less water on board. The diesel prices have started to come down a little, in the $5.13 range. Big Blue pulls Frances so well, it is really a pleasure traveling.
We are going to be home for a three weeks then off to Cleveland SC for a SC Coastal Rally. We will leave on May 4th.
