Silver Slipper – May 29 – 31, 2022 – Site #20
Sunday:
Check-in time was at 12, and we arrived around 12:45. Our drive down was very good. Parking was easy, and our spot (#20) was level.
The weather was beautiful, so we put the awnings up and enjoyed our chairs for the first time. Our view was great; just across the street was the beach.
There was a festival at St. Claire Catholic Church. It was packed, so we headed to Cuz’s Old Town Oyster Bar & Grill for an early dinner. The food was good, and they were super busy at 4:15.
The sunset was beautiful.
Monday:
Monday morning, we watched the sunrise and did our walk on the beach. There was so much trash on the beach that I couldn’t stand it. So, we cut our walk short and went back to the rig and got a trash bag and trash picker-upper. We filled up a complete bag of trash from items off the beach. We filled the bag and then some. Jack could hardly carry it to the dumpster; it was so heavy. It felt good to do something good, yet I was disgusted that folks would do that. We stayed at the RV all day, and I sunned, and Jack cooked.
If you join the players’ club at Silver Slipper, they give you a free night at the RV park. They comped our whole trip! There is not a dog park, but there is plenty of grass.
We will come here again. The beach is right across the street and has a nice sidewalk to walk on.
Tuesday:
We will head out early to get something fixed on the Airstream before we head home. It was a great trip. The park was a good environment, and security came through often. It was a great feeling, and we will come back to the RV Park again.
